A Novel Approach to a Normative Dataset for Clinical Brain SPECT
Currently, the quantitative analysis of SPECT brain imaging is dependent on comparison to small, static “normal” control subjects, which are heavily protected and difficult to produce. To our knowledge, the number of patients per commercially owned SPECT brain dataset ranges from 35 to 90 subjects.
CereMetrix® offers an alternative approach that combines 1,000+ heterogeneous patient SPECT brain scans and will continue to grow with each new patient scanned. When large heterogeneous subjects are averaged at the voxel level, the result produces a composite average resembling normal subjects (patent pending).
We compared our dataset to control dataset in a well-established commercial product, which revealed our approach to be a viable alternative to traditional smaller normal datasets.
